James J. McNamara

Jim McNamara is a trial lawyer in Schuyler, Roche & Crisham's Business Litigation practice group. Jim's areas of practice include trade secret and unfair competition litigation, restrictive covenant enforcement, insurance company regulation and ERISA litigation. Jim's experience extends to all phases of litigation in state and federal court nationwide. Jim's responsibilities also include assisting in the representation of a major securities brokerage firm in arbitration before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

Concentrating in securities law and in commercial and employment matters, Jim has counseled representatives from a major Wall Street broker-dealer, in addition to small and large companies and individuals. Recently Jim has:

  • Teamed with other members of Schuyler, Roche & Crisham's Business Litigation practice group in successfully defending a global medical supply company against alleged ERISA violations.
  • Helped defend an insurance company from alleged deficiencies and regulatory violations.
  • Prosecuted debt collection actions seeking repayment of employee forgivable loans.
  • Obtained injunctive relief on several occasions against employees who violated the terms of their restrictive covenants and misappropriated trade secrets from their former employer.
  • Defended a large Wall Street broker-dealer from competitors alleging unfair competition, tortious interference and raiding.
  • Successfully aided a Futures Commission Merchant in obtaining a temporary restraining order against a cash-management firm that froze customer accounts.

A graduate of the University of Chicago with an A.B. in Law, Letters & Society, Jim earned his J.D. from Seton Hall School of Law where he was a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Journal.
